"Below is a short story to let you know how our Band came about. N2O2R used to be a Pittsburgh Band named RETRO. Those that love to dance know that we played 70's & 80's dance music.
Well to make a long story short, way too many other bands began to copy our original idea, to be the first 70's & 80's band in the Pittsburgh area. They also began to used computerized midi files to exentuate their ability to pull off the songs from these eras, which was similar to our approach. Therefore, the market became saturated with similar bands. Unfortunately, RETRO then became one of many dance bands, playing similar music in a sea of manotony.
Anyway, one day we were setting up to perform at a graduation party. The kid who was graduating, was pretty embarrased that his mother had hired our band. He of course, pre-judged us due to our age. His friend was quoted as saying ""hey, what's with the old dudes?"". The graduates reaction was ""well my mother hired them"". Well, that was enough for me ""game on""! I began to make it a personal challenge to win these 18 year olds over; showing them that we were ""not too old to rock!"". Did they not know that we came from the generation that started it all, with bands like Aerosmith, Zepplin, Journey, Styx, just to name a few.
Therefore, just like the music who's genre we immediately began to change, so did our name. Thus evolved N2O2R, text language for NOT TOO OLD TO ROCK. A name containing this generations insistent need to Text all communication, combined with a message to all of these youngster, that their parents, grand parents, aunts, uncles, older brothers and sisters are NOT TOO OLD TO ROCK.
The band performs songs from the 70's through today's top 40 . Songs with a dynamic party edge. We have pulled away from Disco to more of a Rock and Funk Edge, and have even selected edgy tracks from todays Top 40, like 30H!3. It's been an exciting change that had to be made. Because let's face it the club scene isn't getting any older."
